How to setup a Ubuntu Linux Server for your Website.
In this tutorial, we will be using LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
First Step, you want to check for updates:
sudo apt-get update
This will be used for having the website.
sudo apt-get install apache2
This is needed for Phpmyadmin, which lets you
save usernames and passwords if using a forum software, or cms. Now,
its going to ask you to make a password, make sure you remember it.
sudo apt-get install mysql-server
Fifth Step, is to now install PHP.
If you have PHP files that you need to run, it will show up
as code on your website unless you install php. Basically,
PHP will be executed with this install:
sudo apt-get install php libapache2-mod-php php-mcrypt php-mysql
Sixth Step, is to install phpmyadmin.
Of course, like we said earlier, this is only needed for
forum software or cms.
sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin
Seventh Step, is to configure the apache config to allow
phpmyadmin to be accessed web based.
You need to do this:
